Restore and colorize old photos
Old prints fade, crack and gather dust. Imagening can repair that damage and then add natural color, in one step, right in your browser.
Before and after
Drag across each photo to compare the original with the restored, colorized version.

What restoring fixes
- Scratches, cracks and creases from years in albums and wallets.
- Dust and spots from the print or the scan.
- Worn, soft detail in faces, clothing and backgrounds.
Restoring redraws the damaged parts of the photo, so it can change a face or small details. Always compare the result with your original, and leave restoring off for photos that are already in good shape.
How to restore a photo
- Choose your photo on the colorizer.
- Turn on Restore and repair under More options. Add Upscale too if you plan to print.
- Colorize, compare, and download the look you like.
Tips for a better result
- Scan if you can. A flatbed scan keeps the most detail. Clean the glass first.
- Photographing a print? Hold your phone straight above it, in even daylight, with no flash and no glare.
- Take it out of the frame or album sleeve; glass and plastic add reflections.
- Tell it the colors you know, like a uniform or a favorite dress, in the color hints box.
